Printer dead? (Acrylic Geeetech I3 pro B)
Printer dead? (Acrylic Geeetech I3 pro B)
I finished my printer today and made some test from the LCD panel (just moving the motors x, y and z).
As I was having some issues with the conection with the PC (the Repetier software launched an 'Access to the port 'com3' is denied' error) I downloaded the arduino driver and installed it.
This time the Repetier-host connected but after a few seconds the printer fans stopped and it seems that everything is dead.
The lcd panel still works but only if connected through the usb cable.
Is this a firmware problem or is the Ramps board damaged?
Regards
Abraham

If disconnect the usb cable, is still the LCD luminous?
Please check power supply carefully.

I've checked the wires and everything seems ok. The red button on the power supply lights up, but the LCD is not lumninous.

I've checked one of the fans with an small ac/adaptor (12v) and it works, so the power supply must be the problem. Will you replace it with a new one?
Is it possible to check whether the ramps board is also broken without the power supply (using the LCD panel or repetier with the usb cable)?
Regards,
Abraham

Hi, I have the same problem with the same model printer.
I finally got all my end stops set, adjusted the bed, tested the hot bed and extruder head - but when I tried to print, the power supply died.
What can I do? I found no short circuits or broken wires, and the feed from the electrical outlet it is connected to is okay and surge protected.
With a multimeter I confirmed no power from the power supply, and the display on the printer works when connected with USB.
