Geetech Not Connecting

For Christmas, I got a new Geetech A10 printer and I'm new to it all.

Is it possible for anyone to tell me why my machine refuses to accept its existence? They see what I don't. No program I've used sees it plugged in, and every tutorial glosses over the connection. I've been trying Easyprint, Cura, and Pronterface.

Support, please! I'm going to sob!
