Hey @hardsmar yes I did make lots of progress in fact, and solved the issues. Sorry I just saw your message. I found out about all pins connected to the AVR mega by just opening up the printer, and going pin by pin with a multimeter, and changing everything on the Marlin code.

What do you need, where are you stuck? I am happy to help.

On my post here, I explain how I solved this error: viewtopic.php?f=120&t=70170&start=10
However, I had a few more along the way, but now everything is fine.

I think we still need a wiring diagram for not only this gt2560 v4.0 board I currently have here infront of me, and the extruded expansion card that I’ve seen people refer to as the v 3.1 or 4.0. Long story short I bought a new geeetech a10 and got about 60-80 hours of print time into it then decided to upgrade to marlin 1.1.9 so I could only upgrade the steppers to tmc 2208’s and not buy anything else.... well I somehow made the board stop communicating with my laptop and I went with an SKR 1.4 turbo 32 bit upgrade. Well I fried a portion of the turbo board from not knowing how this extruder expansion slot AND this motherboard are wired because the back side of the board is labeled with just a few letters and no real user manual to explain what that pin does.

This is like an engine swap, I’m the mechanic and I’ve got all the tools and knowledge right here to make things work, I just need you to release your Haynes manual so I can get back to using this geeetech a10 in 32 bit.

Now with these photos attached, let’s look at the situation, I’m gonna send my old gt2560 v4.0 to my teen nephew so he can make his first 3d printer from scratch. I’m gonna need not only a key of this plug for me to fix my printer, but he’s going to need the key as well to start his journey of learning. Can you help me with a proper wiring diagram? I just thought we would’ve had this by now with how old this new version 4.0 is and the new extruder adapter plate.

Okay I’ve got an update, I still need geeetech to release what pins do what on the extruder plug. I’ve connected almost everything and here’s my current views. It’s weird that for my thermistor to work, all I needed was a single thin white wire to go back to my signal. Odd. So this other thin black wire must just be like a secondary thermistor for the same hot end is my guess?...

The actual problem, why when I use the ground wire to the hot end fan, the fan goes from 50% speed up to 100% speed, that’s okay, so I plugged that into the same port as turning on the power to my hot end, problem is now when I turn the machine on, the hot end gets hot. I only let it go up to 40 celcsius before I was like, no that’s definitely not right and shut the machine off to wait for a reply here. Well I can just unplug that one wire and try to run it except problem #2

Problem #2 I have no idea how to get the part cooling fan to turn on, no idea which pins or wires it is. Cannot start printing without this.

Just to recap what’s going I just want to know what pins are for the part cooling fan, if you can supply me with this info I would be very happy and could post info to help people do what I’m doing including replacing my old posts with just the answers people need to know. Thank you

Hi yes would like to get hands on a full schematic / wiring diagram for the V4 also.

I'm interested in installing a MMU2 on the A10, but would need to know where the serial pins go with upgrade to Marlin 2.0.

Thanks in advance

Please provide a wiring diagram and pinout for this board. Marlin can't detect its UART connection and there is no pins_GT2560_V4.0.h! This is so frustrating!

YTD175,
Can you please post 2 additional pictures if you have time?
I'm wondering what the 3 green connectors do, located on the right side of the picture you posted.. I'm wondering if there is any silk screen there?
Also, Could you post 2 more pictures of the extruder card, from a little farther away?

Thanks,
James

I Just got the 2208 set to uart mode and I'm looking for a pinout for the gt2560 v4.0 board because I'm unsure where the pins are to connect to uart I i think i found them but maby someone can confirm.

Although the new verts bug fix 2.0 shows the gt2560 v3 boards in boards.h it doesn't show the v4 but it does mention the v4 board in the pins.h I'm all new to 3d printing so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

can anyone tell me where i can get an old v4 board from , the one with all 3 hotend+thermistor slots populated. i wanna fit a chimera to my a20m and the board is a new 'black board' and doesnt have the components on it :(
or does anyone know if the 4.1b board can handle it ( g-tech aint talking and ticket submission keeps hanging)

I’m also on the search for information about changing to a 2 in, 2 out hotend. Getting tired of clearing blockages from the original hotend. Being able to run 2 different temperatures for mixed materials would be much nicer too.

Alternatively, I may have to try and trace the tracks from the 2560 and try duplicating the existing components for the single hotend connections. It appears that there may be pads on the board for multiple hotend connections. I might have to delve deeper in investigating that option.
