hot end extension board
hot end extension board
I have asked before about replacing the cyclops printhead with a chimera 2 in 2 out model. My concern was if the mother board would handle the upgrade. Good News it has dual extruder capability. For me the brick wall has been the extension board located at the hot end. Geeetech has 2 flavors of this board as far as I can gather. One that is without doubt a single extruder board, and the one on my machine which looks like the attached picture. I circled the area in red that I have questions about. This board seems to have a junction block for a 2nd extruder thermister. Is this to control a 2nd nozzle? If so which 2 pins does it control on the power strip connector for the heater cartridge

Re: hot end extension board
Thank you this really does make me feel better about upgradeing my machine. I still have an issue with which outlett the 2nd thermistor controls. You drew a red box around the whole output string and then seperated the singled out connection. There is a set of three outletts and then a single set to the left by itself. (your picture) My hotend cartridge is connected to the first set on the right. There are two more connections on that string and then the one set that is seperated on the board to the left. Just to save the time testing to find out, do you happen to know which thermister controls which output? This is awesome news and there are a ton of people who will be elated with this news. YOU ROCK! Thanks for the help.
