Z Axis Trouble after 3D Touch Install

Post by jbdkz » Mon Aug 31, 2020 2:49 am

I followed the 3D Touch Auto Level Sensor User Manual. First, mounting the 3D Touch sensor to my 3D printed bracket then wiring to the GT2650 Rev A+ board.

I then proceeded to download the Marlin-PI3_Pro_B_3DTouch(A+).zip. I noticed all the configuration.h and pins.h revisions in the 3D Touch Auto Level Sensor User Manual are already contained in this zip file.

Once the Marlin-PI3_Pro_B_3DTouch(A+) was uploaded to my Pro B, I sent G codes contained in the User Manual for testing. The 3D Touch functioned as described with in pin going up or down depending on the code.

In addition, I added G29 after G28 in my Start Slicer G-code.

When G29 is issued to my Pro B after G28, the X and Y axis move like in the video and the 3D Touch pin moves up and down. The issue is that Z axis moves away from the bed and does it in the air.

The Z axis seems to work like before the code upgrade. Z+ is up and Z- is down. I also tried the 3D Touch calibration procedure on this url: https://www.geeetech.com/wiki/index.php ... alibration

During the calibration procedure, I can never adjust the Z axis down far enough to do the "paper" test.

When I update the firmware to 1.0.05, 3DTouch no longer responds to G codes. When I reinstall Marlin-PI3_Pro_B_3DTouch(A+).zip, 3DTouch once again responds, but has the original Z axis issue. EasyPrint indicates the firmware is back to 1.0.04.

Hello, the installation location may be too high. You can slightly adjust the installation position of 3d touch. You can also refer to the video below to make adjustments. :D

I have resolved my issue where the Z Axis travels in the wrong direction when G29 is issued. There was a problem with the two wire connector to the 3D Touch.

My next issue is that I can't get the extruder close enough to the bed, it is about 5mm away. I have went through the 3D Touch calibration, but it only allows me to adjust the extruder up and not closer to the bed. I have also tried to adjust the 3D Touch plunger, but to now avail.

Hello, if your 3dtouch is too far away from the hot bed, you can refer to the link below to adjust the z offset distance. :D

I have went through the procedure below several times:

viewtopic.php?f=27&t=18371

In addition, I have went through the 3D Touch Calibration procedure several times as well.

I have tried adjusting the screw on 3D Touch sensor that adjusts sensor height.

I have tried with both the EEPROM memory enabled/disabled.

I have entered the command then saved for the M8 Y axis screw.

I have the same problem, either the extruder is too far, by several mm from the bed, or it is pushing down against the bed.I also swapped out the 3D Touch module with a new one with the same result.

Any other suggestions?

You can find games online to entertain anyone in many different age groups. There are several games available for young children, teenagers, and adults. Many of the UFA365s games you would find online are targeted for a specific age group.
