Unstable bed, is it normal ?

Post by John_D » Thu Mar 19, 2020 1:46 am

Hi,

I've recently acquired the A10 model. The problem is, the bed is unstable, even though all 4 nuts are tightly screwed. IMHO, this is because the wheels of the Y axis are not properly aligned with the axis guide. Any idea on how to correct this problem ?

Thanks.

Hi, you can try to lock the lock nut.
and you can check if the y-axis guide is recessed inward
Whether the pulley is worn.
-Keep your mind and try to test it. :)

Hi,

The lock nut is locked tight --> the plate support does not move while the wheels stay stick to the guide --> the plate support *and* the wheels move altogether because there is a gap between the wheels and the guide.

The pulley is not worn, everything is brand new, the printer was unboxed less than 2 hours after my initial post.

The y-axis guide does not seem to be recessed inward, the problem happens wherever the plate support is positioned on the y-axis guide.

Hi, you can install the hotbed
Then move the hotbed support along with the y-axis guide to view,
See if there is an Unstable situation.

There is an unstable situation : with the hotbed installed, the tiniest slightest pressure on any corner of the bed will make the bed's angle change (the springs don't ever a chance to correct this because the bed's support is so unstable). Also, is it normal that the struts for the wheels are of different kinds for both sides of the bed's support (pictures attached).

William, does your A10 exhibit such behavior ? Same question about the struts ?

Hi, is there no corresponding part at your end?
If so, you need to install both sides.

Well, here is the solution :
- The nuts that hold the bed are different because the ones that have an hexagonal shape are eccentric ;
- So, you just need to use a U-shaped wrench to rotate the hexagon-shaped eccentric nuts to adjust the distance between the wheels and the plate support on one side.
