a10 bed of to the left to far

Post by Hotled » Sun Mar 08, 2020 6:05 pm

the home position is 14mm to the left of the bed and the x is 6mm to the front.
as soon as a print is started it tries to lay a purge line, but the bed to offset and it printing and oozing and creates a mess.

how can i adjust the home position.

The home position is intentionally off the bed. You want the ooze to happen off the bed.

When the nozzle is cold, it can be booger up with cold plastic, so the Z would crash into the bed on homing. As the nozzle warms, slicers can perform a scrap motion, dragging the residue off the nozzle. When swapping nozzles, homing off the bed won't crash the nozzle into the bed, if the height is different.

Some upgrades change the Z height. Having home off the bed, it allows the Z to be set, then the physical Z to be adjusted with the limiter switch. For example, i added a 4mm glass bed, so had home come down on the glass, it could have broken the glass, but off the bed, I could unlock the stepper and slide the bed to the nozzle to check adjustment, tune and home again.
