Massive stringing on A10T
Massive stringing on A10T
Hi,
I tried to print an object that has gaps, and noticed that there is a massive stringing going on.
Here is the example: https://photos.app.goo.gl/da3dMNJAiGjKGDV49
I created a test model and played with settings that are marked with red rectangle in the picture and it seems to work fine with tester.
Now I tried to print a model that is in the video and seems like it didn't affect at all.
Thanks

Re: Massive stringing on A10T
I've only had my A10T for a few weeks. When I first got it I had very bad stringing, like you are having and a week later, everything worked better.

My speed is 60mm/s, retraction 6mm and retraction speed 40mm/s, and added a coast distance of .1mm and running at 205c. I'm running hot because I'm mixing soluble filament which likes a hotter temp with pla. My fan speed is 60%, with jumps at 100%. .4mm nozzle height, .4mm nozzle, .2mm layer height.
I also reseated the white tubes going from the feed to the extruder.
I have not changed the nozzle. The filament in the photo is the same brand as used i the video, so I do not credit filament. The blue filament in the video is one from geetech and the other are hatchbox, which I haven't noticed a difference.
Still a work in progress.

Re: Massive stringing on A10T
Sounds like you are using factory settings (if you use Cura). 1 question - what is "coast distance of .1mm"? Is it setting? If so where is it located?
Thanks

Re: Massive stringing on A10T
In cura, it appears to be in the printer setup, where you setup the quality, shell, infill... Search for coast.
Re: Massive stringing on A10T
Re-surfacing the issue: still present and seems that nothing I do makes any difference. The stringing seems to stay at same volume. Any suggestions? I use Cura 4.6.1
Re: Massive stringing on A10T
Hi, you can do this:
1. Increase the retraction distance (6mm)
2. Increase the retracting speed (40mm / s)
3. Improve printing speed
4. Calibration step and multiplier
5. Increase heat dissipation: increase fan speed

Re: Massive stringing on A10T
Thanks for answers guys. Actually, the case were different. I found hidden and disabled by default option in Cura called Retract at layer change. As soon as I enabled it, all the stringing disappeared and print was perfect.

That's good, congratulations!
