How to use Extruder2 for supports

Post by hyteck9 » Tue Nov 12, 2019 11:40 am

Hi,

I just got my A10M and did a quick test print. Worked fine.
Now I have a hollow/hangover print I want to do.
I was pleased to see some soluble material even came in the box ! :)
:P

So, How do I tell EasyPrint3D to use extruder2 for supports?
Thanks,
Hyteck9

Hi, You can set up the extruder according to your stl file in the slicing software.
-Keep your mind and try to test it. :)
-Everything will be fun!-Support all Getech printer.
-You can ask me the questions and I will kindly reply.
-Respect others is the best way you can get help!

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I do not see the support extruder setting.
Can you offer specific instructions, or maybe a screen shot?

Ok then,

Please help me assign my support material only to the 2nd material "mix factor".

In Cura, when you select "enable supports" it prompts the user to choose which material builds the supports. I am just asking how to achieve that same functionality in EasyPrint + the mix software.

I have been 3d printing for a long time, just new to this printer and software.

If there needs to be a separate .stl file for supports, is there a way to auto generate that .stl?

The printer came with soluable material included. There is no other reason to include it except for supports. I just need a little guidance on how to get it set up.

Thanks,

Every slicer with editable gcode for "tool change" command is able to use mixing extruder feature or dual colour printing. For example Slic3r, see my print profile for A10M (read whole theme).

There are many useable optien fields picked-up to the easy menu. If you does not know how some option exactly is, use documentation at slic3r.org.

Tip for free: if ou did not use support for large/flat objects, try PETG as solid contact support for ABS/HIPS, it is easy to break it from ABS. You could also use ABS as support for PETG of course...
A10M Slic3r profile: here and fresh on github (lot of tips here)
A10 Slic3r profile: here
TIP: tight all screws and wheels (except right side of Z axis) and re-align frame while assembly. And silence it.
