Problem printing fine detail.

Post by Softfoot » Thu Oct 17, 2019 3:10 am

I have a I3 Pro C and am running the latest Repetier-Host and Slic3r.

I am trying to print a replacement drive belt clamp https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1724855 for a friends unit
but while the print quality is fine the teeth that mesh with the belt are missing!!!

Interestingly, the preview generated is also lacking the teeth - so I guess it's no surprise they dont get printed!

What am I missing?? I have tried 2 different designs and Cura doest the same.

I have the layer height set to 0.2 (but 0.1 dos the same!)

Any suggestions very welcome.

A rather desperate Dave

Hi, can you provide your printed picture?
If you want to see the preview, you can view it after slicing the STL.

The slots that hold the belt are smooth - there is no trace of the teeth that are supposed to engage with the belt.

Yes, I can see the preview - as I said in my post, it does not show the teeth either which I suppose why it is not printing.

Interesting ... thats NOT what I get :-(

What settings are needed to get that - I am pretty well using the defaults.

It seems that you are using RH v2.1.3 and I am on v2.1.6 --- I wonder if that could be the problem ???

Interestingly in desperation I tried EasyPrint3D and that worked a treat! So that has got my friend out of the manure :-)
But I need to use BOTH extruders so I need RH.

Regards,
Dave
