Personally I highly recommend Marlin 2.0 with bl touch or 3d touch and Unified Bed Leveling. It works fantastic.

reinstalled the 3d touch. after that im completely clueless. cant get it set to the right height

Now you need disconnect Z axis limit switch and update firmware

where and what is the z axis limit switch? is it the little cord connecting to the z axis? also I have marlin 1.1.8 with bl touch options already installed. is there more firmware I need to update and if so where do I get it and how thanks

You need newest beta version of arduino with couple extra libraries. I'm at work right now and I don't remember names.

Yes. If you have firmware with bl touch enabled you can't use limit switch.

thanks for all your help guys. really appreciate it. gonna disconnect that cord now. then im gonna try and find the beta version. hell ill pay someone 20 bucks to create a list with detailed instructions on how to do everything no joke. ill PayPal it through

1.1.8 is installed with bl touch firmware but I just cant get the height right with the actual adjustment of where to put it. do I level all corners first and then level bed with the bl touch? how far should the bl touch be sticking out? seems im getting close
