A10 suddently died during printing
A10 suddently died during printing
Hello everyone,
I bought the A10 a few months ago (april, must be V3), and until last week I only printed 2/3 small objects for testing (like 30 minutes printing)
Last week I tried for the first time a long printing (10 hours estimated) and the A10 suddently died after 2 hours.
I tried to power off/power on using the switch button, and the only sign of life I have is the switch beeing red enlighted : no fan, no screen, everything else seems ofF.
I send a message to the Geeetech support (and the seller) last week right after the incident, but I did not have any reply yet.
What can I do ?
Thanks for your help.

Re: A10 suddently died during printing
I had similar problems with my A10M. It died during print. I had faulty heating cartridge in my hotend that caused short in my board. 100% your 10A smd fuse is blown out.
Re: A10 suddently died during printing
Thanks for your response.
Just changing the fuse would be ok ? Or do you think the board died completely ? Or, if I understand correclty with my little knowledge in electronic, changing the fuse would just give me a little bit of time before the problem happens again ?

Re: A10 suddently died during printing
You need to find out what causing short and replace this element. In my case problematic heating cartridge was easy to figure it out because when I tried heat up hotend instantly fuse blow out again. I replaced heating element and fuse. Now everything is working perfectly. In your case it may be something different but I would check this in first place.

Ok, thanks again !
I guess I have to open the power supply to find this fuse...

Re: A10 suddently died during printing
Fuse is located on mainboard
Let me know what kind a mainboard you have v3.0 or Rev B.

Hi, You can check when you turn on the printer,
Are there three lights on your motherboard?
You can refer to this:

Hi everyone
Thanks for the picture and the test to do, too bad I read this message after opening and closing the box containing the motherboard. I'll try this tonight.
I have taken a picture too, I can confirm it is a V3, and I check the 2 fuses I found, and they're good...
Maybe it's the power supply ? The fan in the power supply doesn't work, and I remember that before this issue it was the first sound I heard when I powered on the printer.

Re: A10 suddently died during printing
@William,
So I tried to power on the printer, and no lights on the mainboard. Only the power switch button on the power supply gets enlighted.
What do you think ?
