Extruder stepper motor not getting signals from board
Extruder stepper motor not getting signals from board
Hi Everyone.
Built myself the I3 Pro B, I have had several issues but have managed to sort some out.
All axis are working by manual test, bed and nozzle heating up great.
I am unable to get the extruder motor to function, the motor, cable and driver board are all fine as i have swapped them out with others on the printer, so to me the issue either lays with the main GT2560 board or the firmware.
I find the sourcing of the firmware very badly laid out with in the forum and no main firmware download page on the main website itself, i cant find previous versions so there is no point of reference with version numbers.
I have load Pro C firmware to activate the 2nd extruder option but did not find anything on the LCD menus to help with that and just got Mintemp error.
I have uploaded a Pro B firmware someone kindly made that swaps the E0 to E1 but to no avail, just got Mintemp error again.
Another issue i have is that i have to control over the printer from my PC, I can connect to it no problem but without control, It can also sometimes just seem to keep sending reset commands to the printer (Of which make the extruder motor click so it must be being pulsed).
Could someone please point me in the right direction I would be very appreiciative.
Many thanks

Re: Extruder stepper motor not getting signals from board
Hi, You can download the PRO B firmware through the official website:
https://www.geeetech.com/download.html?download_id=34
Then pass CURA slicing software
Setting-printer-manger printer
To update the firmware,
If you can't control the printer with the slicing software,
You can check if your motherboard is wired correctly.
If the motor is not working properly, you can try to check the operation of the motor by exchanging other shaft motor lines.
I hope this can help you.

Re: Extruder stepper motor not getting signals from board
Hi William
Thanks for your reply
The wiring is correct and as stated I had swapped and tested cable motors and drivers.
However moving to cura and using the firmware from the main website did get the extruder working and control from the PC, however going back to Repetier, that particular software still doesnt work.
Anyway on with a test print.
So I attempted to print this But i got this Many thanks
Paul

Hi, From your printed results, you need to level the hotbed.Imposter wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2019 2:01 amHi William

It seems that the distance between the nozzle and the hotbed is a bit far.
You can try to adjust it to the right position and print again.

Re: Extruder stepper motor not getting signals from board
I have already levelled the four corners so that there is 0.05mm gap using feeler guages.
The centre of the bed is very warped so I mounted a spring in the centre, it now is also 0.05mm so it cannot be the level of the bed.
When it prints it steps a lot higher than the width of the molten filament

Hi, What do you mean by the hot bed?
You can try to move the extrusion heads line by line through the manual control of the Repertier Host.
If the hot bed is uneven, it will affect the printing.

Hi,
?????? What do you mean by the hot bed? - I dont understand why you are asking this question....
Did you read my reply?? the HOTBED is even.
It works...
I have even made the middle even as it was very warped when i recieved it from you..
I cannot use repertier i told you that in the last posts.. I am using Cura it moves fine no problems IT IS EVEN..
It moves line by line please read my last post again

Re: Extruder stepper motor not getting signals from board
Hi, Do you use cura to configure the printer?
You can share your gcode to see the problem.

Re: Extruder stepper motor not getting signals from board
Hi
I am using Cura, it was your suggestion - you William told me to use Cura because repertier does not work.
I do not know G-Code.
I downloaded the print that I showed you in the earlier post, do you remember that?
It is not mine.. how do i show you what you want??
You are not very clear

Re: Extruder stepper motor not getting signals from board
Hi, If you insist on using Repetier Host,
you can re-install the download and select the correct serial port and baud rate to connect the printer.
I told you that you can use Cura if you can't use Repetier Host.
You need to set up the printer and print the configuration, such as: Gcode is the file you generated after slicing the model. You can refer to this:
