PROBLEM. GEEETECH A10 gets blocked due to the retraction distance
PROBLEM. GEEETECH A10 gets blocked due to the retraction distance
Problem:
In the following video you can see the problem of blockade:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmxNacOFf48
I print whith PLA 1.75 mm.
I have bought Geeetech A10 but I have not been able to print practically nothing. In the middle of the print or before I have a blockade in the nozzle and I can hear how the extrusor gear is making noise because he can not push the filament.
If I put a retraction distance of 0 mm I have no problem but I have strings and hairs as you can in the following image.
(see image A) If I change the retraction distance from 0 to 2 mm I have a blockade after the machine runs.
I followed this video without good result:
Guide to solve the nozzle jamming problem for Geeetech 3D printers
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evslMa5Jpc8&t=56s
Following the video , for assure that the PTFE tube touches the nozzle I disassembled and checked that the nozzle and PTFE tube were in contact.
(see images B,C,D,E)
I changed nozzle. I changed the PTFE tube from test 4. I increase the temperature from 205 ºC to 215 ºC. I Checked that the spring of the feeder had enough strength and was in correct direction. I draw a mark in the PTFE tube for take care that it does not move during printing.
It did not work nothing.
Test 0:
Retraction: 4 mm.
Nozzle temperature: maybe 215 ºC
With this retraction distance I had a good piece until I got a blockade. The machine continued printing without filament.
(see image test 0) Test 1:
Retraction: 3 mm.
Nozzle temperature: 205 ºC
Result: It is blocked
(see image test 1) Test 2:
Retraction: 2 mm.
Nozzle temperature: 205 ºC
Result:It is blocked
(see image test 2)
Test 3:
Retraction: 2 mm.
Nozzle temperature: 215 ºC
Result: It is blocked
(see image test 3)
Test 4:
Retraction 2,7 mm.
Nozzle temperature: 215 ºC
I put new PTFE tube
Result: It is blocked
(see image test 4)
Test 5:
Retraction 2,7 mm:
Nozzle temperature:215 ºC
I adjust the parameter retraction prime speed with a value of 15 mm/s
Result: it is blocked
(see image test 5) In the test 5 I took a picture of the filament blocked.
(see image test 5 filament)
Do you know why I have blockade with all this test in the nozzle? All test I did with retraction speed 40 mm/s and travel speed 120 mm/s. When the blockade appears I hear the extruder doing noise and it can not fill the filament.

I followed also the FAQ For Geeetech A10 series 3d printer with no solution.
I asked some friends that they have different 3d print machines but they do not know what is going on.
Can you help to solve this problem? Is a problem of the machine?

Re: PROBLEM. GEEETECH A10 gets blocked due to the retraction distance
Hi,it may be that the feeder gear is too close to allow the consumables to enter smoothly. You can adjust the adjustment.
You can try the retraction distance of 5mm, the retraction speed of 80-100. And increase the strength of the blower.

Re: PROBLEM. GEEETECH A10 gets blocked due to the retraction distance
Thank you so much it worked very well. See the following test. I would like to solve similar problem explained in tests 7 and 8.
Test 6:
Nozzle temperature: 215 ºC
Retraction speed: 80 mm/s
Retraction distance: 5 mm
Result: it worked with any problem ,thank you!, can you explain why?.
You told me that the feeder gear is too close to allow the consumables to enter smoothly.
I noticed that when I put the filament in the feeder gear it was difficult that the filament reaches the exit of the extruder smoothly because filament do not reached the exit hole, it was not aligned.I disassembled and assembled the extruder, but I was not able to move for example 3 or 5 mm the feeder gear because it is attached with screws to the stepper motor. I only adjusted the feeder gear with the clearance between the screws of stepper motor and holes (maybe it was 0,2 mm). But it was enough for a smooth entrance and exit of the filament in the extruder.
When I introduced 80 mm/s in Cura program it appears in other color, is it maybe very high result to use during all the day for example?
Here you can see the machine working with no problem:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Al-WEKn ... e=youtu.be
With the changes that you told me I had no problem.
Test 7:
Make this face shield of www.coronavirusmakers.org
Nozzle temperature: 215 ºC but I can not remember if I change to 220 ºC at the end of the test.
Result: it is blocked sometimes
piece: stl here:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ySLAK ... ndE8mU1JpO
image extracted from the web www.coronavirusmakers.org
During the printing I noticed that the intermittent blockade was in different areas of the piece.
In the following images I show how the blockade is affecting the piece with parts without material.
There are parts of the piece with no material.
And parts of the piece with not enough material as you can see in the following image. Can you help to solve this problem? Maybe I need to reduce the speed of printing?
In the following video you can see the blockade, but it is not a continuous blockade. 70 % of the printing time is not blocked.
Video at the moment where it is blocked.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWQ8LuW ... e=youtu.be

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H96oGVZ ... e=youtu.be
I think that in the video where it is not blocked I reduced a little the general speed manually from the screen of the machine . But I heard still the blockade.
Test 8:
I reduced printing speed to 30 mm/s and selected a nozzle temperature of 220 ºC and reducen speed again with Fr 89 %. It improved very much but the machine is more slower and still in 3% of printing time I hear the noise of the blockade. Do you know how to solve this problem? What do you think with the other questions?
Thank you so much again.

Hi,you can adjust this screw to increase the distance between gears appropriately.

Re: PROBLEM. GEEETECH A10 gets blocked due to the retraction distance
Okey thank you . And do you know how to solve the problem of the test 7?
Re: PROBLEM. GEEETECH A10 gets blocked due to the retraction distance
Hi,it is possible that the required diameter of the part part is small.
The nozzle diameter is 0.4mm by default, and thin-wall features below 0.4mm cannot be generated.
Special request details suggest changing nozzle size.

Re: PROBLEM. GEEETECH A10 gets blocked due to the retraction distance
Hi,
I've had a lot of similar (but different issues) and have wasted many hours changing hardware and settings. The problem is almost always the filament, so have you tried a different brand?
Doc.

Re: PROBLEM. GEEETECH A10 gets blocked due to the retraction distance
Thak you tomorrow I will change the material and I will tell you thank you.
Re: PROBLEM. GEEETECH A10 gets blocked due to the retraction distance
Thank you but if you see images test 7.3 , test 7.4, test 7.5 and test 7.6 there are parts good and others bad. If the machine can not do this work it will do not do nothing, but in this situation it works well in some parts and in others not. The most representative example is in image 7.3.
Do you know why do I have this problem? Can I adjust something? I am using 220 ºC.
Thank you
