Hi everyone! New to hobby 3D printing (I have used commercial units before) and excited (and frustrated) about using my new a10m that I bought for Christmas.

I do have the 3D touch sensor attached and have leveled the plate. The issue I'm having is when I go to print it always sets the print head to 2mm away and it's too high. The filament won't stick to the bed. I have tried adjust the Z offset, but no difference. I have looked through all the menus and can't see anywhere where I can adjust the head height.

Anyone have some clue to help a noob out?

Hi,You can try to remove the z endstop wiring because 3d touch does the same thing.

I am having the same issue.
I think anyhow the printer has to know the difference in height between nozzle and 3dtouch because the distance is not fixed.
From my understanding the z offest setting should do this but no matter what you write (and save) there has no influence to the distance nozzle-bed.
I remmoved the cable from the Z end stop but not any change

Okay, so I removed the Z cable from the Z stop and it's still doing the same thing, so a few things:

1. I read back through the responses and saw that you had said to remove the cable completely, so I'm guessing this is important. I'll try that next.

2. Thanks for the video, it is really helpful.

3. I see that your menus are different than mine, what version of Marlin are you running? I'm currently at 1.1.8, but saw there is a 1.1.9 and a 2. Any recommendations?

Put BL-touch to waste, it is toy for childs.

Tight and align your printer and you did not need any BLtouch. Make gcode which will run at cold printer in the X Y Z axis for few hours (about 50) to wheels settle.

Then you will get very stable and good printer.

I was need to align hotbed of my printer again after a half year after clogged nozzle and bad PTFE tube+ fitting - after very hard physical operations...

Well after messing around with it all weekend I did finally get it to print properly. I removed the cable completely and played around with the z height offset and now it is at the correct height. This has opened up more issues, but hey, it's all in good fun. Thanks for all the help!
