A10M 2 filament not mixing well

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum. I tried to dig a bit but i couldn't find an answer yet.
I've very recently entered in the world of 3D printing and bought the Geeetech A10M as the dual extruder kind of pumped me up (to the point that i almost regret not to have bought the A20T).

Regardless.. I quite like the printer but i'm facing an issue and i'm not sure if i have a real problem or my inexperience is playing the main role:

I'm trying to print with a color mix (in my case specifically i have red in one extruder and blue in the second attempting to have a grade of purple).
However the mixing is uneven... very uneven. The resulting model is a vertical split between the two colors.
The left side ends up being almost purple while the right side is light blue with no real expected mixture outcome

Is there anything i can do to fix this and have a full mix of the colors?

Hi, If you are printing a holistic model, you may need to set up the extruder during slicing.
If only one color is needed at the time, the ratio of the mix should be 100:0,
otherwise, a color mixture will appear.
Or try color mixing with the color mix software.

In theory my attempt is to have a ratio of 70-30 to result in a purple color (i'm using red-blue filaments that should result in purple as secondary color mixing them) so i would need both of the colors to "work at the same time" for a color switch.
When i try to print is like the filaments remain side by side rather than completely blending so they result of a different color depending on which side you look at it.

In other words, i would like for the two colors to blend in a 3rd one but the printer is partially "failing" to melt them into one.

And... here my full ignorance in the topic appears. What other options i would have other than printing the holistic model?

Hi, the hot end is the two in and one out
so if you mix so, the pattern you have printed appears.

but... is there a way to completely and entirely mix together the colors? Totally blending them to get a 3rd color?

When i printed the model i wasn't attempting to have 2 different colors appear (i'm attaching the two sides of the same model to show the colors better) but rather a single one mixing the two (the two primary colors in a secondary color)

but then at this point.. is there a way to blend 2 colors completely into 1?

Hi, If you are referring to mixing two colors into one,
It should be impossible to complete.

I've noticed the same issue of "not mixing" and checked back on the product page to see if I was incorrect in believing this printer could effectively mix the two filaments in a true gradient fashion. They were very careful to no explicitly make that claim, but it is heavily alluded to from the images.

I've tried a few things without success. Vastly increasing the nozzle temperature to reduce filament viscosity in hopes of promoting mixing in the nozzle. I also slowed the printing speed down to again increase filament mixing opportunity. Neither proved effective. I suspect without a specific mixing chamber the filaments won't actually constructively interact to alter the overall color.

Pity the Geeetech color-mixture software is setup to facilitate this. The nozzle hardware is what is currently deficient. But I have seen what appears to be "gradients" being printed successfully. So if someone knows how to "configure" the printing parameters to achieve this, please share!

Iv been mixing colours on this printer for well over a year without any issues. This has been done via the display, cura and octoprint. The A10m is fully capable of mixing.
