Hi, I think you may need: 1. check the wirings of the LCD and the SD card, sometimes wrongly connected it will behave like this.
2.if the wirings are correct, it might be the wrong settings of the firmware.

Hello.

Yeah, William's right. :D

Yes, a symptom can occur when the display is not properly initialized.

There can be two reasons for this:
  • no communication (the cable is not connected correctly),
  • the firmware has been erased or damaged.
.

Thanks for the response, as you see the ribbon cable i have tired re-connecting again. ive had this printer since december of 2018 and no problems till now when i turned it on last night. with the screen. tried re uploading the software but running into this. also tried connecting it to cura and matter control and it wont connect. install the recommend driver on the geeetech a10 pdf and look in device manger to see everything is correct.

Hi.

If there is no communication with the printer at all then in my opinion bootloader is broken.
;)

So I guess I should just buy a new motherboard or printer..

Hi.

For everything to work as new you need to upload the bootloader again.
If you don't feel strong enough to do it yourself, ask your friends who program 8-bit µC of the AVR family.
For them it will not be a challenge. :D

Of course, buying a new controller board is also a way out of the oppression but expensive.

The choice is yours. ;)
