Hi all
I'm looking to replace the loud extruder fans on the A10M
Has anyone done it? if so what fans did you use.
I believe they are 4010 24V fans. Can anyone confirm this.
I could re-wire them to 12V fans if needed as i want to put in 12V LED lighting and will use a seperate power supply for this anyway.
Also does anyone know the flowrate of the current fans? I want to make sure any replacement is giving at least the same amount of cooling.
Thank you

Re: Replacing the 2 loud Extruder fans on the A10M
So I think the fans are 3010 rather than 4010
Oh well I've ordered a couple of 12v 4010 so I'll either run them in series or power from the led driver I'm about to install.
They should arrive tomorrow.
Just need to figure out how to disable the hot end cage.
I may even make some instructions as I go along.

Re: Replacing the 2 loud Extruder fans on the A10M
Just an update for anyone who’s interested. The fans are 3010s and 4010s will not fit inside the cage. So I mounted on the outside of the cage and powered it all up to a noisy racket. Maybe slightly quieter than the 3010s.
I’ll investigate more tomorrow and check the dB level now.
I suspect the age is messing with the air flow causing the noise. I also want to see what dB reading the stock fans are out of the cage.
Anyone solved this issue yet?
If the stock 3010s are ok out of the cage I may take a drivable to the cage and remove part of it. This would mess with the bel touch bracket so I’m not sure if I want to do that just yet.

Re: Replacing the 2 loud Extruder fans on the A10M
If I do (2) 12v fans on one 24v circuit would I need any additional hardware to step the voltage down? My fans are noisy and gettting louder the more I use my A10M. I need to look into better fans for the hot end. Does anyone have the specs on the stock fans (cfm, rpm, ect)?

Using step-down module for 0.2$ is better option.

TIP: tight all screws and wheels (except right side of Z axis) and re-align frame while assembly. And silence it.
