Hi everybody,
nice Forum with very helpful threads!
Info:
I have a new A10m and some problems with it.
I use (stock) Marlin 1.1.8. <- should i flash a newer one?
I already calibrated the e-steps, which helped quite a lot (extruded only 75% of 100mm filament - was set to 340.0 and is now set to 453.3).
Problems:
(1)
The bed seems uneven and has some "wobble" from the front-left to the rear-right corners (i hope it is understandable what i try to say - english is not my native language).
What i did to level:
- Autohome the printhead via LCD control.
- I used this z-height as my point 0 for the height <- is this correct? (the printhead just activated the endstop switch)
- Tightened all 4 leveling screws
- Searched for the highest point and started from there to manually level the bed
- repeated the leveling for the corners and middle point and random spots, over and over.
I can get it to a point, where i still have up to a mm difference in height.
Using glue-stick as a base, it is possible to print but not very nice.
Do i have to work with a z-offset or is the point zero for the z-axis=activation of the endstop?
(2)
I have bad stringing problems, which i can not get away.
I use Cura 3.6.0 AppImage on Linux, which is why i can not import vert's json files, but i will copy (what is possible) to my own profile and try.
I heard that Slic3r could work better and was wondering, if there are any Slic3r Settings available for the geeetech printers?
Thank you very much.

Re: bed leveling and stringing
Thanks for the reply!
No. i am not using a 3D or BL-touch yet.
Was just wondering if the z-axis end-stop is where the first layer is printed.
So i only need z-offset for 3D or BL-touch?
Which firmware should i use?
Your marlin 2.0 beta?
vert wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2019 7:37 pm1) if your setting a z offset im guessing you have a bltouch if you do the original z end stop must be removed the bltouch is your z end stop your giving it 2 inputs with both attached.
stock marlin 1.1.8 is total trash nearly all the settings are wrong some as much as 10x to high.
if your using a 3dtouch its notoriously inaccurate m48 results over 50 micron is unusable.

Re: bed leveling and stringing
Is this: Firmware for geeetech 3D printers a newer version than stock?
Should i go for your Marlin 2.0 beta?
In both cases i should calibrate e-steps and pid by hand again after flashing?
