Hello.
The functionality of each connector is defined by the firmware.
This controller board provides the possibility to connect LED lighting.

that is correct however i am unsure as to how much current this connection can hold, my be someone at Geeetech can advise...

I am not from Geeetech, but when you look into the GT2560 V3.0 schematic you can see the LED is directly connected to VDC and the drain of a MOSFET Q3. VDC (24V) is comming over the J1 connector and therefore from the powersupply. When you suck more than 10A from it the fuse F1 will burn. The MOSFET can hold up to 5A (datasheet AP2306AGN).
So i think a standard LED with a resistance component limiting the current to 20mA at 24V will be ok. In that case you have to be care about power loss (heat), because there is a lot of voltage to "destroy" by the restistance. When i calculate it with an online tool the power loss is nearly 500 mW. So to be save take a restistance which can withstand 1W. Or spend 20 times more money for a 24 V LED
Depending on the PWM5 signal the LED will be activated. The LED+restistance and the MOSFET will act like a voltage divider:
- No PWM -> MOSFET will become a high restistance -> nearly all the voltage will drop over the MOSFET.
- PWM on -> MOSFET will become a lower restistance -> voltage will drop more and more over LED+restistance

Hi.
Well done. I would not write a better answer myself.

What type of JST connector is used for the LED ?
I searched the geeetech wiki but i found nothing.

In my opinion it is:
JOINT TECH
A2501WV-2P
However, I do not have this controller board and I am not able to verify this information.

Hi
Thats a great diagram. But can you tell me which fuse is which ??
They both say fuse.
Thanks
