Is the Geeetech support reading here too? Or do I have to use email?
My A10 suddenly died. In a
short video I describe what has happend.

Hello.
If you have a multimeter, you can proceed with a simple diagnosis.
In order to do this, you need to dismantle the covers in order to access the electronics.
In the next step you can visually check if there are any damages and check the correctness of power supply voltages.

I made a new
video. The board has a shortcut between 5V and GND.

Hi.
I can see that you started the diagnostics professionally.
Can you repeat the test with the controller plate removed?
Have you performed a visual inspection of all electronic components

Is this ironically?

Hi.
For my part,
that is recognition.
You have disconnected all cables from the controller board, which is not insignificant.
Not everyone does that.
But it is also important to dismantle the controller board.
You can also check if the inverter chip heats up.
If you touch it with your finger, be careful - you can burn yourself in unfavourable conditions.

I am a programmer by profession, so it seemed to be logic to proceed like this.

Of course, but I didn't do it in the first place, so that nobody can argue that I broke the board myself.

I own an infrared thermometer, that I use to calibrate the thermistors.
I would like to make something clear, I am not a total newbie. At least I was able to let my
Hypercube Evolution in build to move like that.

Forgive me, but in your profile you did not write anything ...
Thus ...
Carefulness is never too much.
I am interested in your tests
The resulting situation is very interesting for me, and with your skills, we should deal with it quickly.

I liked your implicit idea, that there might be a shortcut under the board, but that
was not the case.
The video is mainly for the Geeetech support that asked me to check the fuses! Why do they ask me this nonsense?
How can a blown fuse make a shortcut? One of the LEDs still lights up, so there is a proof that the 15A fuse is intact.
The other fuse is for the heat bed so it is irrelevant.

HI
It is a pity that you did not come up with it to show the PCB from below.
In the diagnosis a visual check is a very important step.
But you know it and you certainly looked carefully at whether the PCB does not have any damage, or a foreign element.
Tell me if the chip of the step down converter heats up when the main power supply is connected
I have seen the connected USB cable. Is a short-circuit also present when it is not connected
The design includes electronic keys for switching the 5V power supply from the internal converter and USB.
You can find my opinion on this topic on Geeetech Github.
Maybe this element failed
Let us know quickly.
ps
I always carry out diagnostics with the electronics completely dismantled
(if possible). This will solve a few problems that may occur.
Allow me not to comment on what you have been asked to do.
