DOA

Hi Everyone.
Just got and put together my A10 today. Put it all together, and no power to anything. No Fans spin, lcd stays black, nothing but sad sad silence.
Am I missing something simple? Everything looks plugged into the board correctly, but I cant get the fan to spin even when I plug in the USB.
Thanks

Check that the PSU delivers 24V.

Of course not, the USB input gets 5V and the fans need 24V. That is the reason why the fans are not connected to USB.

Hi Gerald
I thought I would at least get the screen powered on when plugged in USB (Did on my tevo tarantula). I will grab my multi-meter and have a test when I get home.
Thanks for the reply.

Agree, check the output voltage of PSU first.

Do you get the power light on the switch illuminate when plugged in and turned on?
If not then start with the PSU as Gerald suggests. but if no light then either the mains cable/plug not delivering the juice or fuse issue at source.
If you get no life, then it looks like a return job for the PSU being faulty. New kit PSU should not be pulled apart as it has a warranty seal.

Hi Guys
I do get the red light on when turning on the PSU. But no PSU fan.
Does anyone have an A10 and could check if the mainboard lights up when plugged into USB?
Thanks

Have you selected to correct voltage in the PSU (e.g. 230V in Europe)? There is a small rectangle hole on one side of the PSU where you switch the voltage with a iron clip or screw driver. But disconnect the power cable before you switch it.

Yessir I did.
Sorry I should have posted it, the PSU was DOA. I got another one off Amazon and had Gearbest refund me for the $30 I spent on the new PSU.
Just to clear up a few misconceptions I had with the printer.
1. The LCD will NOT load up if plugged in through USB and no PSU.
2. The fans will NOT spin if plugged in though USB and no PSU.
3. The PSU fan WILL spin when the printer has power.
I had a Tevo Tarantula before my a10, and it would power up and spin fans through USB power. So I wasn't sure if it was a PSU or mainboard issue.
Hope this helps other people if they have the same questions.
Thanks

As I told already, this is not a misconception! The 5V from the USB are not enough to spin the fans, so they are even not connected to the 5V rail.
