Printers Messes Up Every Print (Photos, Video)

Post by smx » Fri Apr 19, 2019 4:08 am

Hey,

I could print normally until a week ago. Since then the first layers are messed up, do not stick well and the nozzle/tip scratches everything off after about 5 minutes. I levelled the corners a dozen times with a slice of paper. Anything else I could do?

Please see this video to see how it scratches off: https://photos.app.goo.gl/untT2rbAVnau13B27

This is how the first layers look: https://photos.app.goo.gl/aPjUh2rhChTwu3UQ8

And this is how the plate looks afterwards - is it supposed to show the outlines of the earlier prints? https://photos.app.goo.gl/5mPBJ6QPn5sJKyGP6

Thanks for your help!

I had the same issue with my printer.
Here's what I did.
Cleaned the print bed with an alcohol wipe.
When i had my issues I did not believe it was a bed leveling issue as i adjusted and check loads, but guess what it was.
Try heating up the bed before you level.
Then level the corners. I use a piece of A4 paper.
Then try a print with a skirt and make sure the skirt prints ok. I increased the skits to 4 to make sure i get a good flow.

There's a perfect place for bed leveling and you have to get it right. I guess this is why people buy the BL touch auto leveler. I've not bought one yet but am considering it.

I'm not sure about the explananation but quite quickly I also had issues with the first layers while in the beginning it was working pretty well.
I think it is more related to the nozzle rather than the bed (and leveling), something related to the melt of two filaments.

My solutions is the following : I use 'blue painting tape' on the bed and a very slow first layer. By slow I mean 20 mm/s or slower.
Sometimes (when the first layer is quite convulated) it is not enough to get a good first layer. In that case I use a raft instead of skirt/brim.

I think you should calibrate the Estep at first.
Then clean the hotend.
If you find it is hard to leveling the hotend ,you can try to use the babystep to tuning it.
