New A10M display
Re: New A10M display
Okay. I will test this and let you know. I greatly appreciate you taking time to help me.
Re: New A10M display
I disconnected everything except the PSU cable to the motherboard and the cable to the display. Tested from printer frame to Vss and Vdd on display board. I get zero volts. The display is still just a green backlight, no text or blocks.
If the display is green, does that say power just no signal from motherboard? Are we talking PSU on mother or printer PSU?
The company refunded me $60 to buy parts. I would like to know what my problem is, but also want to start printing.
Thank you all

Hi.
It is doing very interesting for me. In the sense that I have a riddle.
Remember how quickly we solve it depends on your perceptiveness and details about which you will tell me.
Would you be so kind and prepare a film with measurements?
If the display has an active backlight (at least a bit), the place of measurement should not be 0V.
Backlighting is a separate electrical circuit on which there are LEDs.
The power supply circuit is built as follows:
1. main power supply.
2. a small 5V DC converter on the controller board.
3. the 5V power supply is transmitted via an FFC cable to the LCD module.
.
On the picture there is a part of the circuit diagram with description of leads on the connector to the LCD module. Outside pins are power supply voltage.
Make a measurement here.
. .
Next measurements should be made in places where I draw arrows.

I forgot to write about one more.
My GT Team friend Tom has found two disturbing places in your photo.
I marked them with a green frame.
Could you check if the pins are not short-circuit

Re: New A10M display
Confirming the photo of the control board display connect with solder over lapping. I can't get in there and melt away the solder. Is that our culprit?
When I test from the 5v PSU on the board to display VSS I get zero. VDD reads 3.97v. My apologies but not sure exactly what to do with the black photo with labels. I don't have jeweler goggles so I can not accurately see what I am touching. Some have reading others don't. I do get the beep when I touch that.
Should I just buy a new control board (and display)? Controller with overlap solder seems fishy. I have the GT2560 V3.

Re: New A10M display
Hi.
I will clarify everything.
The black image is a piece of a circuit diagram, where all signals in this connector are described.
We are only interested in power supply, at the outermost leads.
I must ask you to measure them with a multimeter on the controller board connector when the LCD module is disconnected.
Next, on the connector of the LCD module when you connect it with a cable.
The last measurement was to be performed at Vdd and Vss points. In the following way - the first test tip of the meter to the VDD potential and the second to the VSS potential.
The short-circuit you have found can be removed by cutting with a thin blade. Soldering at this point will be very difficult to do, even for me. However, I have special soldering substances that help with it.
The main problem is that the power supply voltage on the LCD module PCB is too low.
When you verify the things I've asked you to do, we'll think about the next steps. For the time being, I don't see the need to spend money.

Re: New A10M display
Sorry for the delayed response. Control board with no LCD plugged in, 5v. At LCD connectors, 3.8v. Vss - Vdd 3.8v.
Re: New A10M display
Hi.
OK. so we know that the voltage disappears somewhere.
You have to find this place.
Have you made an additional measurement at the flat connector of the LCD module

Re: New A10M display
I just assembled new A10M 2 color mixed printer. I installed driver (anywhere okd) for my MacOS but I can't see the printer via USB. The LCD panel show 2 rows of dark dots and green background. I installed Aguire, Marlin, and Repetier etc but the LCD is still the same. My Mac Book still cannot see the A10M. ....
The cable flat 40 pin connector to the new model board is very short and difficult to connect. It is impossible to keep the cable connected. Is there a trick that you can keep the cable stick to the board. I had to use my finger to press on the connection to see the LCD display. As soon as I let go off my finger, it's disconnected.
I still have problem with USB driver. My Mac cannot see the A10M after driver installed.

Re: New A10M display
I use a plastic tie to hold the LCD cable and it works.
