Z Axis Nightmare

Post by Graff3 » Sat Dec 14, 2019 6:50 am

(I am still very new to 3d printing) My z axis has been losing its home more and more recently. I Was running a z offset of -1.3 after purchase and I am now at -2.6 and still not making contact near the heatbed. Every print I am having to lower the offset even more just to make it get close enough to the plate to put filament down.

Also, 35 hours into a 37 hour print my BL touch decided to drop the probe and knock the build plate half off the heat bed causing me to waste 3/4 of a roll of filament and 35 hours of print time. I adjusted the probe on the bl the other night to raise it up a hair and this is the first time this happened.

Any idea how to fix these issues?

From what I have seen online it starts to lose magnetism and you have to remagnetize the pin. The big killer is this z axis issue that just doesnt seem to get better no matter how much i rehome and offset.
