Z problem on the first centimeter
Z problem on the first centimeter
Hello everybody.
I recently acquired a Geeetech A10m to my collection and started some print tests. I have a problem i dont know how to fix so i humbly request your help.
Long story shot : the first centimeter miss 2mm of print on the Z axis (0.3mm layer height) :
The benchy must be 48mm but is only 46mm
When i compare to my Alfawise U30Pro prints, it lacks lots of materials on the lower layers :
Does anyone got an idea ?
Thank you for your help.

A10 Slic3r profile: here
TIP: tight all screws and wheels (except right side of Z axis) and re-align frame while assembly. And silence it.

Re: Z problem on the first centimeter
Hi, you can check the following points:
1. Whether the organization is loose or not, it can be adjusted appropriately;
2. Whether the bearing is issued, the card is required to be lubricated for lubrication;
3. If the printing speed is too fast, make appropriate adjustments.

Re: Z problem on the first centimeter
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback.
- There is no warping, the whole pieces are firmly stuck on the build plate and there is no deformation
- The print is at 40mm/s on cura
- There is no mesh leveling used, the machine is stock with no modification or 3D/BL touch
thank you for your help,

Re: Z problem on the first centimeter
Hello vert,
Thank you for your answer.
The printer is completely stock, firmware configuration is the default configuration when receiving and assembling it. Zstep/mm is 400 as configured in default stock firmware and Z acceleration is 75 by default.
I tried a hangover stress test at 0.1mm layer height and 40mm/s printing speed (20mm/s for outer walls) and i have the same results, the plate (on the bottom) is thinner than the one printed on my U30 which have the right size.
I tried :
change Zstep from 400 to 412
change temperature gradually from 185 to 205 on different benchy boat
change the speed from 40 to 60mm/s
change the noozle for a new one i received (0.4mm also)
but i still have the same problem : all the prints miss 2mm on the first centimeter.
Thanks again,

Re: Z problem on the first centimeter
I was have same problem with A10. Tight all screws and wheels. I was find one screw left in a box from Z axis. Then allow few hours of printing to settle mechanism.

Hello,
Thank you for the answer, i will try and i give it a last chance tonight and tomorrow, and if nothing is set up i return back to amazon...
That's a pity, it gives really good hangover until 60°!!

Re: Z problem on the first centimeter
Hello,
Well... more tries, more fails, i packed the printer and sent it back to amazon.
Nothing corrects the problems, and all the prints where broken (you can squeeze them with bare hands !). I printed afterward same objects with same filament on my U30Pro and CR10 and they are perfect...
I would like to thank the community for your help and wise advices, but when a machine dont works... it simply dont works. Perhaps some other A10M works like a charm but not mine i dont think i will try again this printer, i have a dagoma ultimate dual color at works who surprisingly works very well (only need a calibration of the bed leveling before each print, but the printer si so simple, it takes 5 secondes with the right gcode).
Thanks again, i wish you the best and good continuation.

Did you try to un-tight these v-wheels?
Imagine that V-wheel alignation principle:
