3dtouch and z-offset

Hi,
I have literally been trying for weeks now to get my 3dtouch working on my i3 pro W - (2560A+ board) and have had limited success. What I am finding is that it completely ignores any z offset I choose. I could use 020 or +20, it makes no difference as it is ignored. I have read countless articles on forums and other websites but none have yet managed to solve my problem. I have correctly configured the firmware, fiddles with values in an attempt to get this working.
This should not be that difficult. I have followed the guide from Geeetech and that doesn't work either. There must be something missing. I'm really starting to get completely annoyed. Well actually I was well and truly annoyed after a couple of days of trying.
From what I have read, I am not alone and a lot of people have this issue.
Can anyone help, please?
Dave
