Hi,

I have the same problem. USB cable gets hot in a few seconds. I tried installing drivers manually. I tried unsoldering F2 as suggested, same issue.
LCD menu works but trying manual control only moves one axis. Reading around I tried connecting the other motors to that axis and it looks like motors are fine. I also tried moving the drivers around and it seems like only 1 of the 4 motor drivers actually work.

So far it's really disappointing

Hi, If you mean only swapping the motor wires but not calling the wires on the motherboard;
Prove that this is happening due to broken motor wires, you can replace the motor wires;


If the position of the motor cable on the motherboard is exchanged, it proves that there is a problem with the port on the motherboard; the motherboard needs to be replaced.

I've swapped the motor driver around and it seems the control board is OK, but only one of the driver boards works and only in one direction.
The slot I put the driver in is the only one that moves. So I assume 3/4 of the motor drivers (the red boards) are faulty. How do I get them replaced?

And what about the control board USB problem?

When I connect the printer to the computer VIA USB, the USB cable started heating up very quickly. I went over the forums and other resources and I have tried:
- Removing the F2 0ohm resistor => still heats up
- Reconnected F2 and connected the board directly to the computer without anything attached to it => I get "device descriptor request failed". I also have some Arduino Nano that also use the CH340 that the GT board uses and those work perfectly fine on the same USB port.
- Tried different USB ports (2.0, 3.0) different cables, same error with everything I try
- With USB 2.0 nothing lights up on the board
- With 3.0 the 2 diodes in the corner D6 and D16 (or whichever is next to it) and ON led next to F2 are green. The Orange L flashes 2 times then stays off.

I have a PC PSU... I can hook up 2 12V lines but even without a power supply, shouldn't windows see the board at least?
And if the 12V PSU and 5V USB circuits aren't isolated, how would a different power supply fix anything?

Lastly, what about the faulty A4988 Motor Drivers? Even if I manage to power it up It's still useless
