Just Blocks on the LCD

Hi,

Loving my Pro B, i have created loads of amazing items that I need for a huge project I am working on, I have had it since August and so far it has been user error until this week.
I cam to use it a week ago and just had blocks on the LCD, I did some research and followed wht I discovered.
Basically I disconnected everything from the board except the USB, deleted the device from my PC including drivers, added it back in again, I then managed to re-upload the firmware. From that point all was good until last night when the same error occured, this time I am no longer able to repeat the fix.

Coms port looks good in device manager.

In Arduino 1.0.1 I am getting

AVRDUDE: stk500v2_RecieveMessage(): timeout

Until it finally terminates its attempts.

Thanks

Paul

Hi, If you are referring to this error, it may be because you are not connected to the computer via the USB port.
You can try to replace USB.
Or refer to this: /www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t= ... RlcFtWdCG4
If this problem still occurs, there may be a problem with the motherboard port.
I hope this can help you.

Hi.

I have not got a usb issue, my computer recognizes the port when connected. The motherboard on the printer is loosing its firmware.
Basically last week I switched it on and had A blank screen with black rectangle blocks on it

I got it work by disconnecting and reflashing,
Done some prints
come back a few days later to do some more work and have the same issue.
This time I have been unable reflash it.

The green usb light on the printer motherboard lights when I plug in the the usb cable.
As I attempt to flash the orange comm light on the board lights up flashes once and stays solid.
I have 5v on the board tested as per instructions.

Any advice please before I request a new board. Thanks

Hi,if you can't upload firmware when you connect the printer via USB,
Is it because of an error,
You can try replacing the USB cable to connect
Or it may be caused by an error in the communication port on the motherboard.

Hi William
I have used another cable no difference.
Do yo mean the USB port on the printer motherboard? This wouldn’t explain why I have lost the firmware.
Thank you for your help

Hi,If the port cannot be read, it may also cause the firmware to fail to be refreshed.
Because usb can't connect the printer to the Arduino

Other than that then the main board must be failing. Can you please help me to organize a replacement under warranty. Thank you
