Extruder stepper motor not working

Hello,

In my i3 pro B, extruder stopped working.

I've done some tests, and i think the problem is the port on the motherboard.

- Normal Wiring = all axis work, only Extuder don't
- Connected extruder stepper with its cable to X port, stepper motor works fine
- Connected X stepper to E0 port, not working
- Switched stepper driver from X, nothing changed. E0 still dead
- Flashed new firmware, swapping E0 pins with E1 one
(i followed one of the guid on the forum, but editing pins_Gt2560.h )... again, not working even using E1

do you have any hints?
both E0 and E1 ports dead, is really strange.
Please, i'd like to avoid replacing motherboard

Hello.

I suggest you check the quality of the connections, from the controller board to the engine itself.
Look for weak contacts, wire breaks.

Have you tried to replace the stepstick module for the test :?:

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

Btw, i've tried swap stepstick with the one on X, both working on X, neither on E.

Wires are ok, i've unplugged, and plugged again every cable.
Also, the same cable, work on X.

Hi.

Then if you have a soldering iron, I would try to improve the quality of the solders at the socket pins.
You can also check the continuity of each line with the multimeter.
As I suggested earlier from the controller board socket to the engine leads. ;)

If all is well, it may be the software, or you need to perform an in-depth hardware analysis.
