X Axis not moving ?

Hi,
I have just finished building my I3 Pro B and have a problem with my X axis not moving.
I have:
Tested and can confirm that all a4988 drivers have at least 0.8V (and none are higher than 1.2V)
Swapped the X axis stepper motor connection on the GT2560 Board, with the Y axis port.... I am then able to move the X axis through the Y axis control. But the Y axis then won't move. I have tested this through the LCD control and through the Repetier UI
I've swapped the A4988 from the Z axis with the X axis, still the same problem (So i've now discounted there being an issue with the A4988 driver)
Loaded the latest Marlin firmware (didn't work, i just had the blocks [] on the LCD )
Loaded the latest ProB firmware as per the topic on this site (currently loaded, and still the same issue)
I've loaded the ProB firmware several times through the 1.0.1 Arduino UI and still have the same issue
In the firmware, i had to swap the endpoints for the Y axis, is there something I need to do for the X axis? (I've scanned all the files when loaded in to Arduino 1.0.1 and there's nothing that screams 'X axis disabled'...
I can't think of what else to try? - other than swapping out the GT2560?
