2 Months still no Prints Help!

Post by mndmnd66 » Thu Apr 19, 2018 10:31 pm

Hi,please can you help? I have had this 3d printer for Nearly 2 months and still haven't had it print anything.
After I replaced the Z axis M8 for ACME Threads/Solid Couplings and Bearings and Increased the Voltage to 1.1v, I managed to get all Axis Working and Homing perfectly. The Extruder and Bed heated up as Well.[I Thought I'm NEARLY THERE!!].
I've downloaded Arduino 1.0.1 and 1.8.4, Also Marlin-PI3_Pro_B as I needed to adjust Steps for New Acme thread. The Comm port is set the same in Marlin as in RepetierHost and I left the Default Motherboard Setting as _ULTIMAKER as my GT2560_REV_A+ was not shown.
I Checked it complied ok and uploaded which it did successfully.[ or so it said].
How ever Now nothing at all moves from RepetierHost the commands just time out.
On the printer the LED still displays as it did before. Please help, it would be so nice to get my 1st Print!

Thanks Mark

Hello Mark

I have this printer short time, but i maka update GT2560_REV_A+ also.
Which version of Marlin did you use?
When i update my printer, then i must edit some variablem in Marlin. Because when i upload it directli without any changes, printer not work. LCD stay blank and dont work.
I use latest version of Marlin 1.1.8. This version show on LCD after switch on Marlin logo and version.
Im not at home than i cant write exactly what you must change in Marlin. But you can check in configuration.h if is #define SERIAL_PORT 0 and #define BAUTRATE 250000.

Hi thankyou for your reply, I've had another go using Arduino 1.0.1 and Marlin-PI3_Pro_B [From Geetech Link].
This time I uploaded with no mods other than playing around with the Comm setting.
This time it uploaded and the axis/extruder all move :). Then I Adjusted steps for Acme Screw and re-uploaded.
All now seems fine and I've just re-calibrated all movements so should get my first print soon hopefully.

Many Thanks Mark
