Gt2560 board, switching hotend 1 with hotend 2

Post by StuartyG11 » Thu Apr 05, 2018 5:55 pm

I seem to have broken port one for my hotend in my geeetech prusa i3 pro b gt2560 board, the left side screw port is broken and lose, resulting in my hotend not heating up.
After searching online on if there is a fix I came across a forum which claims I can switch hotend/extruder port 1 with the other port beside it using the pin.h file in firmware.

Has anyone tried this as a quick fix un-till they received their new board. I will post an image with the firmware changes it says to make.

Do you think this could work?

You can swap the pin definitions of the Extruder1 and Extruder2
Then you can use the extruder2 port to work.
Hope this will be helpful!
(I have tried it and it works~)

Awesome, thank you so much, I'll give it a go. This printer has been in a cupboard for almost a year gathering dust because I haven't been able to figure out how to fix it.
Will the standard pro b firmware work, or will I need the pro c dual extruder firmware?

Now I just need to figure out which part of the firmware lol. I hate being a noob and having to ask lol.
I have tried changing several parts of it and still no joy.
