Filament clumps up, Need help

My filament clumps up in the gap shown in the photo, Any idea why and how I can fix this?

What is the temperature and material you are using? What nozzle size do you use?

Looks to me that you've got the extruder assembly mounted the wrong way round on the carriage; on my printer the motor is on the right, the fan on the left.

As to the problem, perhaps your nozzle is clogged, I'd clean it out with the cleaner pin and re-load the filament.
