Problem with Auto Leveling Sensor
Problem with Auto Leveling Sensor
Good evening, it's the first time that I connect to this forun, I have a Geeetech I3 Pro B gt2560 rev A + After having assembled everything to work correctly both molded PLA and some attempt with ABS, then I perform upgrades for self-leveling. I bought a 3DTouchAuto Leveling Sensor, I installed it and followed the directions on the Geeetech website, but I always have a problem, the right side of the plate is raised, the right side is always low.
I tried with the firmware "Marlin-PI3_Pro_B_3DTouch (A +). Zip" with the version "Marlin-1.1.x.rar" and also with the version "1.1.8 Firmware for Geeetech i3 Pro B printer with BLTouch sensor and T8 Lead screw ", the 3DTouch sensor works correctly, the self-leveling is performed, but when printing the left side of the plate is at the correct level, the right side is always low.
Does anyone have any indication to give me and eventually provide me with a firmware tested for this type of printer and sensor?
Thanks Massimo

Re: Problem with Auto Leveling Sensor
Either there is a bad connection, the right-side threaded rod is binding, (most likely), or you need to increase the current limit on the Z-stepper driver.
Re: Problem with Auto Leveling Sensor
Thanks, I had not thought about it, I will try to reverse both threaded rods and Z-stepper right-left, to see the behavior.

Re: Problem with Auto Leveling Sensor
Good morning
I inverted the threaded rods and the Z-Steppers from the right side with the left one, but the result does not change, the plate is not aligned in the four points B and C are at the right level for the extruder, point A is too high the point D is too low and the material does not stick to the plane (a picture is better than a hundred words).
For this test I used the most versatile "Marlin-1.1.x.rar" firmware for setting the Z-offset.
Thanks for any help

Re: Problem with Auto Leveling Sensor
Hi there,
I'm having this issue and I can't print large pieces because of this.
I've attached a print, the 2 pieces were on the oposite side of the bed.

We need to figure what is happening, I tried different firmware with the same results.

Re: Problem with Auto Leveling Sensor
I have an issue myself with the BL-Touch. I cant seem to get the bed leveling to work. or I haven't correctly set the stepper motors for the T8 leads I installed. Printer auto levels then decides to forget the height and comes crashing in to the hot-bed pushing it down before attempting to print.
Re: Problem with Auto Leveling Sensor
same problem ... someone has solved?
Re: Problem with Auto Leveling Sensor
I've just ordered this sensor for my GEEETech i3 Pro B machine, I'm also new to 3D Printing and have never edited firmware before for printers, that is.
I do have the PDF for installing this sensor, but I have to wait until my new motherboard arrives so I may calibrate the printer prior to installing this sensor.
I'm a little disheartened if I'm honest, I see people asking for help and many of the posts have either been ignored or not answered in a way that'll help people get the tasks done, Swiftly and Correctly.
Are there other Dedicated forums where many own a GEEETech i3 Pro B machine?
I'm new to the 3D-Printing world and I'm looking for engaging forums to join,... especially the type that help with support,... Any links would be appreciated.
I hope you got this matter fixed and the other people claiming to have this issue also found a fix.
Thanks in Advance and Happy Printing.

Re: Problem with Auto Leveling Sensor
Good evening
honestly I could not solve the problem, I tried different solutions but without result, I still use the self-leveling sensor, but then the self-leveling sys-off, G29, and manually level the plate.
I will still be on the net and I will try other solutions, I hope sooner or later to succeed or to receive some good advice from some friends.

Alienmoon,
I don't mean to be rude, but it looks like what you are looking for is something you are not going to find on a forum of volunteers. You need something like a paid support system, not a forum. No one here or on any forum I have seen is going to hold hands or do your work for you. There is literally a ton of information on the interwebz about getting a BL-Touch or clone to work. You need to roll up your sleeves and dig in. Using this type of budget printer is more about the journey than the destination. Relax, learn, and if you are not careful, you may have some fun along the way! LOL
PS: Complaining about poor service on a forum of volunteers like this one is not going to win you any friends willing to bend over backwards to help you....just sayin'.
