Printer blocked?

Post by GuLinux » Sun Mar 25, 2018 7:41 pm

Hi all!
I just finished assembling my Pro B printer, but when I tried powering it on, I found it doesn't seem to respond to any command.

LCD powers on, and displays "NO SD CARD - START TESTING", and changes to "SD CARD OK - START TESTING" when I insert a SD card, so there doesn't seem to be anything obvious wrong in the LCD/SD card connection itself.

When I try clicking the wheel, I just hear the buzzer noise, but no response from the printer.

Finally, when I use the repetier host software, when I click "connect" I hear something trying to move in the printer, but nothing happens, and the software just says "no signal detected - forcing start".

Could it be a wiring problem? a dead board? Firmware issue?

Cheers,
Marco

Hi, I'd recheck your wiring, especially the ribbon cables from the LCD board to the main board.
When you first switch the printer on does the LCD display the Main info screen? hot end temperature, hot bed temperature, etc and say "PI3 Pro B ready" or jump straight to the "NO SD CARD - START TESTING" display? What else is displayed?

When you start Repetier, yes, you should get a "click" when it connects. You should also see the connect icon change to the connected one, do you get that? Then it'll just sit and does nothing. Go to the manual control tab and you should be able to move the axies and home them from here.

Where does it say "no signal detected - forcing start"? In the Info section at the bottom of the Repetier screen? Is this after you connect or have you loaded a Gcode file and hit "Print"? Need more details I'm afraid.

Play Bonny!
