Firmware update

I have bought a Geetech i3 Pro B back in april/may 2018. I have now ordered a Geeetech 3D Touch Auto Level Sensor. My concern is how to figure out which settings I need to use in the firmware.

I have (professional) programming experience, and also has experience with both Arduini, Platformio, C/C++. So I have no concerns getting the firmware compiled, and I also understand where to set the apropriate values.

1. Is there an option to either backup existing firmware (I think it is version 1.0.3)? (From my reading I guess answer to this is "NO")

OR

2. Is there some function I could call to identify what are the actual settings in the firmware. (I can only see the firmware version in the log)

OR

3. Is there a list of values I need to identify before (eg. boards make + revision, ....)

And

I see a lot of repos in github, where can I find the best or even better a correct Configuration.h file?

What I do know is:
1. Board is GT2560 Rev A+

Hi!

If you download marlin you have example configuration files for the printer. probe and noprobe. The probe configuration files are for the 3D Touch/BLTouch sensor, these are a configuration files for make work the printer.

1. No possibility of backup firmware, at Geeetech download section you have the last two compiled firmware made by GEEETech https://www.geeetech.com/download.html?download_id=34

2. Only by Gcode commands, slow and ineffective.

3. If you download marlin and configuration examples all are ready to work.

Fine tunning are necessary for work correctly: Probe position, steps, offset....

So I can always just go for the precompiled firmware? I guess it isn't as complicated as I was fearing

Is there a good guide on how to tweak the values that I can play with?
