I received an i3 Pro B DIY kit as a Christmas present and have spent the last few weeks putting it together.
I found the quality of the kit excellent and despite a few initial issues getting the Z axis set up correctly everything seemed
to work fine.
I got to testing the extruder and this was working fine initially. However I attempted my first print last night and as I was trying to feed
filament into the top of the extruder a piece of the mechanism dropped out of the bottom of the feeder. I removed the fan and took a look
into the feeder and found one of the black plastic components in two pieces.
Clearly I need to replace this and having looked on Amazon and can see various aluminium upgrades for the feeder. I'm somewhat confused as to what I should order and what would be compatible with my extruder. Any help or advise would be helpful
Thanks
Steve

Re: Broken extruder
Hi SteveA,
I'll make a guess that you have a Geeetech Pro B printer...
They generally come with a 'Mk8' style extruder - found very cheap on ebay...
Something like this ?

Re: Broken extruder
Hi !
I'm in the same situation as SteveA and am also confused as to what I should take to replace the feeder as I'm afraid to end up with an incompatible part.
Thanks for your help

I've seen this model a lot on amazon.fr but isn't it for a bowden style extruder ?GAQ wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2020 2:13 amHi SteveA,

Re: Broken extruder
If you take your existing plastic extruder off the printer carriage, split it apart and look at the bits...
You'll see that this has all the same components, but in Aluminium.
Just don't use a filament guide on the bottom...
