No Mainboard Firmware - Geeetech A30

I was having some issues with the hot end temperature being unstable during printing and tried to do manual PID tuning which didn't work. Then I decided to try to flash marlin firmware onto the printer to allow me to do PID autotune to fix the problem. I used Flash Loader Demo to Flash the firmware, however it erased all the data and the upload failed so now I'm left with a Mainboard without any firmware.

I've tried using Smartto Firmware loader to put the old firmware back onto the printer but I keep getting a timeout message. I've also tried using Flash loader again to Flash the old firmware with the same result.

The touchscreen is still working fine but it displays no information in the about section

Yes, I used smartto firmware updater before I had issues with it to update the firmware. I installed V1.38.59 I think.

Hi,maybe you should update the screen UI, put the system file into an empty SD card, and then insert it into the card slot.

Hi, how would I get the system file? I've updated the screen to the latest version as well by copying the system file, that was included in the firmware update, onto the SD card.

I believe William has “system folder” in mind, from the official latest firmware package available for download from Geeetech website. You have to put it to the SD card and put this card into SD slot on screen mainboard.

About the flashing tool refusing to connect to mainboard: start the tool, connect mainboard to your computer, choose correct COM port in the flashing tool, choose correct firmware file and start flashing - it will tell you it cannot connect to the mainboard so then restart the mainboard (switch off and switch on printer) - upon reboot it will connect and will flash the firmware. It is important to first flash the M file (mainboard firmware) and then the S (screen) file. Also do not forget to put system folder and the S file to the display's sd card - it helps resolve "blank screen issue".
