A30 Continuing Problems
Geeetech A30, Technical Issues, 18th November 2019
I made a number of good prints with my A30 Printer before the control box failed giving electric shocks. Geeetech sent a new control box and the following problems have continued since that time.
Please would anyone advise on the following problems with my Geeetech A30 Printer
1. Heated Bed temperature will not exceed 48C.
2. Heated Bed temperature rises automatically when the control box is turned on. I cannot turn the bed temperature off or control the temperature.
3. Heater Elements fail after single use.
I can no longer produce prints.
Regards from Tim

Hi, regarding the temperature of the hot bed you are referring to,
You can try to unplug the hot bed line from the motherboard and check the temperature display.
If the high temperature is displayed, there may be problems with the motherboard that need to be replaced.
If the temperature is -14°, you need to measure the thermistor of the hot bed.
I hope this can help you.

Re: A30 Continuing Problems
Thank you William, but that's a standard reply I've read elsewhere on the Forum and does not address the issue of the Hot End Heater Element (Cartridge).
The heated bed temperature rises automatically without being instructed to do so. Also, it will not reach a temperature greater than 48C.
The Heating Element of the Hot End fails after a single use. That is, a pack of 10 cartridges including genuine E3D.

Hi, If you mean that the temperature of the hotbed rises automatically,
I still recommend that you unplug the hotbed line to see how much the temperature is displayed and
determine if there is a problem with the motherboard.
If the temperature does not rise, you need to measure the thermistor of the hotbed.

Thanks for your response William. When the hotbed is unplugged it shows 0 degrees C

I do not know how to measure the thermistor. Are there any instructions?
Re: A30 Continuing Problems
Hi, you can use a multimeter to measure the position of the blue-green line.

Re: A30 Continuing Problems
William, after a few youtube tutorials for using a multimeter I believe you need the following:
1. 1.75 Ohms
2. 11.13V
Does this sound realistic?
