A30 Dual Color upgrade

Hi Guys,

i would like to upgrade my A30 (Hardware V3.3) with dual color extrusion, using the A10M 2 in 1 out hotend.

Since i also own a A10M and really like the Firmware of this one, especially the Mix funktion and the ability to adjust Steps/mm i was thinking about replacing the LCD touch of the A30 with an A10M like LCD and use the A10M firmware with configurated Bed size.

Now with the release of the A30M i was wondering if i could just use the Firmware of the A30M since i also would like to upgrade the A30 with dual Z endstop anyway.

I would be happy about some clearance concernig following questions:

Will the Firmware of the A30M have the same Mix funktion as the A10M?
Will the Firmware of the A30M allow me to adjust the Steps/mm without configurating and reflashing the Firmware?
Will i be able to use the A30M Firmware for the dual extrusion upgrade of the A30 including the dual Z endstop upgrade?

Could i attach a A10M similar LCD to the A30 and configurate the A10M firmware so i could use it for the A30 (including double Z endstop).

Hi,
I think I need to point out these:
1. The A10M use the fw based on the Marlin while the A30/A30M use the fw based on the Smartto
2. We still don't know when the A30M published. We don't have much info of it.
(I am the moderator of the forum and I know a litter more about A30M but I can't talk it now.
The reason is I signed a confidentiality agreement )
3.If your motherboard is the GTM32 PRO VD then it means you can upgrade it to A30M when it releases.
But I still want to point out: Your "A30M" will lose some new features compared to the official version of the A30M.
4.The A30M added the new menu for the Estep/jerk,etc.

Since we've had nothing but problems with the A30 since I bought it a year ago, I've often considered throwing it out and starting over with a different printer. Occasionally we get a few good prints, and then boom - something like Z height issue problem occurs repeatedly, nozzle buries itself in the glass bed without any way to stop it, etc.
The problem I see is not the hardware, but the software. The firmware that Geeetech made for their proprietary board in the A30 doesn't seem to be *quite* 100% compatible with Marlin or Repeteir host in Cura, but it *almost* works. When it gets everything right, the prints look fine. Not "spectacular", but serviceable at least.
More often than not, however, some little problem crops up. If I had known this from the beginning, I never would have bought a 3D printer with a one-off board inside, but rather went with a printer that had a tried and true firmware. This is the most important thing to the "average user" like myself, who just wants to buy a 3D printer and PRINT, not screw around with fixing the printer all the time.

With all that in mind, do you know if:
A. This new Open source GTM32 PRO VD control board for A30 that they made for the A30M will work with the existing hardware us A30 early adopters have?
B. Have they fixed the Z height problems, auto leveling problems, etc, and improved the firmware to the point it would be worth upgrading the internal board on the A30 I have and keep using it?

I realize you have signed a confidentiality agreement, but I don't think answers to those questions (and surely there must be others with those questions at this point!) would break the agreement.

when will the A30M be Available on Amazon i just added funds to my amazon account and was going to buy the A30 but i can wait for the A30M if it's not going to be too much longer for it to be on Amazon or if the upgrade kit will be on Amazon soon. Thanks Sean

For problem A:
The new version hardware of the A30 use the GTM32 PRO VD board+24V hotbed+new version hotend.
Geeetech has added the extension mosfet for the hotbed.
If you want to upgrade it to GTM32 PRO VD.It is possible but you need to check the wires different and make some change for it.


For problem B:
I think you should update your fw to V1.38.59.Then see the log info then you can know the details of it.
