I don't have TMC2208s to test at the moment, but for reference, that version of the firmware has been out since October and has worked just fine on multiple A30s.

One side note: the A30 doesnt have the GTM32 Pro vB. It has the GTM32 Mini S. Here is the board in detail: http://www.geeetech.com/wiki/index.php/ ... TM32_Board

If I use this firmware, must I replace all of the drivers with the tmc2208? or can I just upgrade the X and Y axis drivers?

:)
You can replace one motor driver board. Others, you can use the A4988. It will work.

Hi all. William, your FW update few posts back corrects moving in X and Z axis. The movement in Y axis works too, as it did in officially published V1.58. After updating FW, I only had to change motor directions in the settings. So, thank you, my printer A30 is now silent.
For those interested, I make youtube videos. At the moment I am reviewing and twicking A30 (general review, updates to make it top of the top, some solutions to HW/FW problems etc.). Videos are not sponsored.
Check https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIOIhh ... LB0azJmd8w
I have years of 3D printing experience. In conclusion, the A30 is the TOP of cheap 3D printers!
The only hope I have is Geeetech will soon do the Marlin migration as Smartto is buggy...

And I deeply believe that problems with the Smartto firmware will be resolved definitively.
And this software can be better than Marlin 2.

Unfortunately, all this takes time.
:D

Smartto could be way better than Marlin, but it should be made for Arduino. IAR workbench is to expensive for general public to work with. The migration to Arduino would give Geeetech a high number of contrubutors... It is not that hard as it already is in C and may parts of the code are from Marlin. Another problem is the opensource is only mainboard code, not the LCD code. And some odd things come from LCD part.
But this all is just for us programmers. For general public FW/HW already works good...
BTW, Why doesn't external wifi module come with PC program, only android/xphone? Will they release sources?
