TMC2208

Post by snir2001 » Fri Nov 02, 2018 6:00 am

Hi guys,
I have a problem with my A30 and maybe you will have the answer...
I just changed the drivers to TMC2208 and this sh!*t is briliant !!! but, somehow I can't make it work on the X...
Y,Z and E working great, but the X don't want to lock or move.
When I home the X, it's working, but refuse to move from there.
I tried Vref, and changing to another TMC2208 but nothing.
Back to the A4988 and the X is live again.
Any ideas????

BTW, the board is Gtm32 pro vd

I have the same problem. HW version 2.1, 24V PSU.

When I upgrade to FW 57 or 58, X works until I execute G28, or G28 X. After homing - X axis is dead.

On 56 it seems to be working (with TMC2208 drivers) but I am worried as the linked thread says I need to have newer firmware.

I measured voltage on X axis driver while homing - there are no drops or changes, it is same after homing but stepper won't move anymore.

Actually after some printing, issue happens in V56 too. For now I will just remove G28 and manually make sure that axes are homed before every print. I will upgrade again to 58. If you need me to test anything (test builds), you can contact me (I am also in group on FB, you can message me).
