A30 until shortly before burning

Post by agentsmith1612 » Thu Oct 11, 2018 1:48 am

Today my A30 was shortly before starting burning.
I realized that the heat bed did not reached more the exact temperature of the set 57°C.

After I touched the aviation plug for the heat bed I felt it was totaly hot, so hot that I can't even tough it.

I shut all down and but out the both pins for the high current for the heat bed.

The pins were oxidized and causing a high resistance that leads to the rising temperature at the plug.

I blame geeetech for using this little pins for such high current.
The pins itself are not able to handle this high current.

Worst case is that the printer will ignite and the controllerbox will burn.

What should I do now? The heatbed is not working anymore because I have no connection anymore and I don't trust this tiny pins anymore.

Hello.
;)

It's very sad what has happened to you.

I assume that the direct consequence of this defect was a bad electrical contact.

I don't know the type of connector used in your printer. But you need to know that these small connectors can do a lot. Of course, provided that they are properly connected.
I don't blame you for this state of affairs either :!:

Hi apak.

This picture is only the first better example. I wrote earlier that I do not know the connector type in your printer.
If you give me the type, or show me a photo of this connector + description, it will try to find it.
:D

Mine is fine. I did not open the issue. I just said that burn side was box end connector, not the hotend conector.
