Just aseembled my A30. Y motor does not work..

Post by x00m » Mon Apr 08, 2019 12:36 am

Hi, i just assembled my A30 printer and when i go to level and manual level. every motor works fine except ONE of the TWO ""Y" motors. one works and it can go so far before it twitching up and down uncontrollably due to the fact the other "Y" isnt working at all.

i have contacted the Geetech ebay seller as i bought it from the official store. and they told me to open it up and change the motor driver to the one thats working to see if it fixes the problem.... well it did not. its all the same, even with the other motor driver.

i am quite disappointed in the fact that i havent even had a single use of this NEWLY built brand new A30. how can something like to go wrong at the manufacturing tests? do these not undergo QoS testing?

not happy at all... any suggestions?

Cheers,

Ersan.

Hi Ersan
It sounds like you have your Y and Z axis mixed up. Y only has 1 motor that is the Build plate control motor, The Print Head is on the X Axis and the one with 2 motors is the Z axis. Hope this helps you Just incase you put the wires in the wrong motors.

Hi Steve,

it appears i have the axis letters mixed up but the cables are not in the wrong place. It is the Z axis i am having trouble with. one of the motors arent working. however when i swap the cable from the other Z axis. it works.. but the one that was working isnt working.. so they just literally swap. i think its a control board issue. Ive already swapped motor drivers about and still no joy... not sure whats going on.

thanks,

Oh I see, I assembled my A30 About a week or so ago. I had a broken extruder lever on mine. But I was still able to use the extruder and the prints are really great for me, I upgraded from My A10 and glad I did now even with the problems I had with the extruder. Hope you get a new board and see how good the printer is.

Steve.
