Problem: Print fails due to clogged extruder.
Description: Print has been working for 4 months with only minor problems. For the last three weeks printer cannot complete a print. Unit had several errors where print error of low temp stopped printing.
It was noticed that if the cable to the extruder was adjusted temp would return to normal then fail. The cable from the controller to the extruder was replaced. This has had no effect. The extruder assembly with the heaters, sensor, and thermal block was replaced, this has had no effect. The heater ohm out between 27 -30 ohms. the voltage to the heaters, measured at the terminal header is 23.8 Volts when started, and ramps down when the display nears the set temp.
The cooling fan on the right side of the extruder assemble seems to be running at full speed, not sure if this is normal.
Tried raising the temp from 190, (PLA) to 235. The filament when print fails is solidified in the extruder.
Only thing that has changed is that our office is now 20 deg. C, I have no control over the office temp, during the summer the temp was between 22 and 25.
Please advise, is the cooling fan speed controlled or is it always on?
Is there any thing else I can try, need to fix but not sure what is causing the failure?
