Same question, same problem !
I received my Mecreator2 yesterday...
this little fan is too much noisy.
I opened the box under th printer and deconnected it.
the printer works without noise : that's wonderful !
but I'd like to know if something will burn soon...
I can't see which component needs that little noisy fan exactly.
May be another little silent fan could replace it ?
or may be with just the under opened it is ok ?
please Geeetech tell us what to do !

Hello,
For those who want a less noisy mecreator2 I have a simple modification to share :
It was not the little fan which is noisy itself but its interraction with the frame !

Removing the "frame grid" in front of the fan reduces a lot its noise :

I just added rubber washers on screws and between fan and chassis.

Not quiet but better

There are some small computer fans that are quiet but I don't know how much air can those push

Drivers that run your motors require cooling so without this fan you can expect those to burn out soon.

I tend to modify the chassis and put it on adjustable legs so the whole printer is few cm of the table and then cut a hole right bellow drivers and mount CPU fan to blow directly on drivers

Thank you for your reply.
By the way, can you tell me which is the right position of the little noisy fan : blowing ouside or wacuum cool air inside ? I am not sure how it was originaly...

I'm sure I've answered on this yesterday but I have no idea why is that post missing now!

It should be blowing from inside toward outside

Thank you Inverted,
I noticed sometimes posts desapear from this forum.
So the little fan must blow outside... but I believe there is another fan inside the power supply box, blowing ouside, isn't it ?

Yes, both fans blow toward outside
Cool air comes in through free holes on chassis and those two fans blow hot air out

More effective than pushing air in and creating pressure
This way there is more airflow

Has someone planned to print a housing for bigger and more quiet fan instead?

By the way, I opened my power supply unit to look at the fan, 2 observations :
- it never works (unless a little move when I turn off power switch)
- it looks to be positionned to vaccuum air from outside to inside (I guess regarding the shape of the wings)

What do you think ?
Does it have to turn all the time when power on or only when needed by the system ??
is its position OK ??

Thanks again
