Every time I attempt to print the print head slams into the heat bed and scratches it but nothing then prints.
Can you please assist I have attached a video of what it is doing.
If it's a setting then please advise how to correct it, if it's an adjustment please advise.
I really need to solve this before it causes damage.
I have a Rostock 301 triple extruder.

Re: Print head strikes the heat bed and scratches.
Have you leveled your bed and did the nozzle have a clogging?Ieesha wrote:Every time I attempt to print the print head slams into the heat bed and scratches it but nothing then prints.

Re: Print head strikes the heat bed and scratches.
I had the same issue, the slicer program, in my case, was setting the rate of travel too fast and the stepper motors lost count, they could not keep up. The result the head would slam into the plate and never begin its first layer at 0.4mm from the surface.
I made a metal rod that was 100mm in length, manually moved the head down to 101mm and looked to see there was a 1mm gap no matter where I put the rod on the table. The final adjustments I made with the limit switches adjustment screws. I had already leveled the plate from the plastic base of the machine.

I also used the process described in the Zip file on adjusting the height, work ok. I can start a print and looks good but soon the stepper loses a step or two the print is destroyed. I slowed the rate way down and it still failed.
Re: Print head strikes the heat bed and scratches.
After the step losing,it appears layer misalignment?Right? Some tips:
1. You can check if the corresponding timing belt is too tight or too loose.
2. You said you've slow down the rate?To what value?Try 15/20mm/s to see if it makes a difference.
