Brand New Printer - motor/board i/o problem.
Hello, I have assembled my Geeetech i3 pro b and seem to have some issues.
My y axis can only go one direction, it goes backwards very poorly.. And all axis want to zero out in the wrong direction, so it doesn't hit the end stop.(I'm guessing that's firmware?). When I switched the motor cable that was acting up to a different port it worked fine. I feel like I might have a bad connection on the board? Please advise? Should I look into firmware or is my board damaged? I just Received the printer on Monday.
Thank you,
Dan

Hi,Dan
Some tips for you:
1.You mean all the axes have a wrong direction when you "Move Axis"?
If you do,you can refer to the following post to modify the wrong ones in the firmware:
http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 17&t=17037
2.Concerning only moving in one direction,i think you'd better check if the corresponding endstop has a good connection,so have a double check.

Re: Brand New Printer - motor/board i/o problem.
Hi I am still having issues with the one direction. It won't return left direction, some one told me to swap the stepper drivers, once I did that it switched to a different motor same issue. I also seem to have a delay on one axis. As in I'll press the direction and it won't move at all but count the movement anyway.
I will check the firmware for the end stop directions. The end stops seem to work ok when I manually press them. It just heads in the wrong direction and next hits the end stop.
I contacted my seller on eBay and they keep referring me to the forum. I feel like they should send me a properly working board/stepper drivers?
Thanks,
Dan

1.You'd better test if the directions of all the motors in "Prepare->Move Axis" are right before homing them, modify it in the firmware if some directions are wrong:
http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 17&t=17037
2.You mentioned the issue switched to another motor from the original motor when you swapped the drivers, you mean the original motor worked normally after the swapping?
If so,it's the driver has a problem itself, you can contact the seller to ask for a replacement.
3.As for this:
You can check if the voltage on the corresponding driver is enough:I also seem to have a delay on one axis. As in I'll press the direction and it won't move at all but count the movement anyway.

Re: Brand New Printer - motor/board i/o problem.
Hi again,
I changed the stepper driver out and have now managed to get all the axis running in the right directions. the z axis is responding some of the time in both directions.
How ever the direction of the home for Z will only go about 10 rotations and then stop. and the end stop button doesn't seem to work when pressed?
Any ideas?
Do I have a power issue on the Z axis stepper driver? I'll check the volts on the stepper. Do you think that will clear it up? Also why is it only rotating 10 turns and stopping instead of searching out the end stop?

Hi,
I have all the axis working now in the correct directions.
My Z axis is only rotating about 10 times and stopping instead of finding the end stop any ideas why it's not searching all the way to the end stop?
spins about 10 rotations up or down and stops. All other axis go till end stop..?
Thanks
Dan

Hi,Dan
You can plug other endstop cable(X/Y endstop cable) to your "Z_min" slot on the board, then you can confirm if your Z endstop was broken or the cable on this endstop has a similar problem like the following picture: Actually, you can measure the continuity of this cable with a multimeter.

OK,
I'll swap them and see, would that explain the 10 rotations and stopping? Thanks again, you've been great help.
I'll let you know. Looking forward to this printer working! Also learning a lot about how they opperate.
Thanks again for your help.
