MK8 extruder

Post by Mikey » Mon Oct 02, 2017 3:21 am

I bought a new MK8 single to use my GEEETECH I3 ProC dual as a single but when I plug it in and try to advance the filament manually it just clicks and does not move. I have stripped it down to the bare stepper and its still just click, click, click. The shaft does not turn at all, it just moves a little when it clicks. Any suggestions?

1. You should know the extruder can work when the temp is above 180 degrees.
2. Maybe the nozzle is clogged and you have to clean it.
You can refer to this video to clean it.

3. Maybe the A4988 has not enough power to drive the extrduer turn. You should increase the driver voltage of A4988 to 1V.
And you can refer to this post.

4. I think you can swap the A4988 to check A4988 is OK.
5. Swap the motor to check if the motor is ok.
